Examing the Persona
We had an enjoyable morning with nearly everyone from AJ Chambers of Rochford last week, examining their personae.
The Latin word persona referred to a theatrical mask worn by an actor, where it would represent the character being played. It is thought that this may in turn be derived from the Etruscan phersu, so we could have said “Holy priceless collection of Etruscan phersu Batman.”* [Fortunately we didn’t].
Using up-to-date studies of personality, understanding one’s own persona - the ‘mask’ we wear in the workplace - can be incredibly enlightening, both for us and for those with whom we work.
We believe that those in attendance now have a useful insight into the ‘wrinkles’ of individuality, in order to adapt and connect with their colleagues, whichever personality environment they inhabit.
Our thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm - whether expressed externally or experienced internally - and for getting involved. Thanks also to those who missed out because they were looking after the ‘phones, to Andy for agreeing to let us loose on his staff with no idea what we were going to do [it can’t have been easy], and to Kerenza for coordinating everything so professionally.

*The exclamation “Holy priceless collection of Etruscan snoods Batman!” is believed to be the longest uttered by Robin, the Boy Wonder, in the original 1960s TV series.
